At the IFA Consumer Electronics Trade Show in Berlin today, Toshiba announce its latest addition to the Satellite laptop series – the new 18.4” Satellite P500 multimedia laptop.

The Satellite P500 is the first Toshiba laptop to feature an integrated Blu-ray Disc drive, providing full HD support and playback. The Re-Writable drive supports Blu-ray ROM, BD-R and BD-RE and DVD SuperMulti DL +/RW, and integrated Resolution+ technology means that the Satellite can even make DVDs look better when viewed on its TruBrite 1920×1080 widescreen.

The P500 is pretty impressive under the bonnet too, with 4GB of DDR memory and up to 500GB of storage, as well as the latest-gen NVIDIA graphic chipsets and high-end Harman Kardon speakers.

It even packs Toshiba’s new multitouch control pad, allowing users to zoom and scroll using just the trackpad.

The Satellite P500 will be available from late October 2009;
